Local History

Located just 18 miles North of Chicago, Northbrook is a great place to work, shop, and raise a family. First known as Shermerville when it was incoporated in 1901, Northbrook has grown from a sleeply little village along the Chicago River to the home of several large international corporations, including Allstate Insurance, Astellas Pharma, Crate & Barrel and Underwriter's Labs.
